New COVID Guidelines effective May 14, 2021
FIRST OF ALL...THANK YOU...for the many sacrifices all of you made to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus. While many congregations and schools across the country were identified as super spreaders in the early stages of the pandemic, our Catholic parishes and schools went to extraordinary means to protect the vulnerable. It was an exemplary effort of faith and community. We were commended often by the health departments responsible for enforcing compliance.
MASKS...Fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. The exception is crowded indoor settings like buses, planes, hospitals, prisons and homeless shelters, even if fully vaccinated.
It is not appropriate or necessary for parishes to verify vaccinations. Here at St. John’s we will not be asking you to show your vaccine card.
***The dispensation of the Sunday and Holy Day obligation is still in effect until further notice.
Encourage “common sense” distancing of 3-6 feet per household.
Choirs of vaccinated members can practice and assemble during the Liturgy.
Place special emphasis on hand washing and hand sanitizer.
The Bishop is meeting with the other Bishops in the state next week to discuss the Sunday Dispensation, Holy Communion on the tongue, and holy water fonts.
The state still requires masking of all students and employees of schools, daycares and preschools
The weekly offertory collections taken during our weekend masses are an important source of income for our parish. Your weekly financial contributions make a big difference in our parish.
Spiritual Adoption03-17-2021Fr. Bruce Fogle
To help stop the anti-life push around the world, the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn child. This is done by praying that the one particular but unknown child’s life be spared abortion and be allowed to continue to live.
We encourage you to be part of this 9-month family prayer program to pray for an unborn child in danger of an abortion.READ MORE

Eating Twinkies with God
We don't need to look for and wide for God. He's in every one of us and in every thing that we do. Whether you believe or not, we all can agree that by helping each other, each good act that we do makes this world a brighter place. Let us rise to the occasion and be kinder to each other, to help one another. We are all on the same team.
Welcome to St. John the Evangelist
We at St. John the Evangelist are an active Catholic faith community working together to help people encounter God and grow in their relationship with Jesus. We believe that faith is a journey and no matter where you are on the journey, we welcome you.
This website will help you learn about what's going on here at St. John the Evangelist and how you can get involved. Our parish becomes more vibrant and enriched when more parishioners come forward to share their faith, time, and talent with the rest of the community. There are a lot of possibilities! Know that we are here for you and if there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.
Sacrament of Confirmation
St John’s families who have children in 8 Grade (in 2021-2022 school year) on up who have NOT received the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the Parish Office during the month of June to reserve your child’s place in our Parish Confirmation Preparation Program that will begin at the beginning of the upcoming school year. This will help Gwen Dean in preparing for the classes. Confirmation with Bishop Medley is scheduled for Sat, Feb 19, 2022, at the 5:00pm Mass. Your help and prayers are needed. Thank you!
